Installing Adobe Flash Plug-In

Do you use a browser for emailing, shopping, chatting, banking, reading news, listening to audio and viewing video? If you do, then you know the importance of the browser being fast. This is exactly what Google Chrome offers you – speed. It has been designed to ensure that everything it does is quick – starting up from the desktop, loading web pages, running big applications and much more. This means that with Chrome you get to do more in a short span of time than with any other browser. Google Chrome is capable of offering ease of use and a seamless user experience. Its simplicity and efficiency are two aspects that allow for this. One feature that enables it is the search box in which you can navigate and search. Another is that you can arrange tabs according to your convenience.

Google Chrome is also capable of offering users a secure web experience – an aspect that makes it one of the best browsers. It does this by reducing users’ need for downloading essential files. To facilitate this, Chrome offers key applications like Adobe Flash player along with the browser. The integrated Adobe Flash player allows users to get the most of animated material in games, advertisements and such. For people who consume this type of media frequently, it can be difficult when the Flash player stops working. In this situation, they will have to manually install the player plug-in. Here are a few steps that you can take to install the Adobe Flash player on Google Chrome:

Installing Adobe Flash Plug-In

  1. Open Google Chrome browser.
  2. Copy and paste this link: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe in the browser.
  3. The Adobe Flash player will download automatically on your computer. The status of the download will be indicated in a bar at the bottom of the browser.
  4. When the download is complete, click on the section of the bar which says ‘install_flash_player.exe’.
  5. A dialogue box will ask you whether you want to install the player and allow it to make changes to your computer. Click on the button marked ‘Yes’.
  6. The Adobe Flash Player installation window will then ask you whether you agree to its terms and conditions. Click in the box next to this statement.
  7. Next, the button labeled ‘Install’ will be highlighted. Click on it.
  8. If any other browser is open, you will be prompted to close it.
  9. Once you do, the installation process will be completed in a few seconds and the flash player will be ready to use.

Verifying Status of Adobe Flash Player Plug-In

Sometimes it is possible that the Flash player integrated with the Google Chrome browser has only been disabled. To verify it, follow these steps:

  1. Open Google Chrome browser.
  2. Copy and paste this in the search bar: about:plugins. You will come across a list of plug-ins, of which one will be Flash.
  3. If it has been disabled, it will be in grey and just below it will be text marked ‘Enable’. To install Flash, click on the text. The text marked ‘Flash’ will then get highlighted and the ‘Enable’ will be replaced by ‘Disable’.
