The Mini Maps extension for Google Chrome is a useful device providing you quick access to the basic Google Maps facility. This handy plug-in has been designed to ease your location exploration needs without leaving your current page.
A browser button is placed in the Chrome browser web address bar on the installation of this extension. A mini-map interface will open up by clicking on this button, allowing you to search for any location in the world and explore its nearby places of interest. You can also look for directions to reach that location by clicking on “Get directions” link which changes the location input field into two address fields to display directions between these two locations. These directions are then demonstrated in the Google Maps window in the Chrome browser.
Furthermore, the Mini Maps plug-in presents the options to change the map view (from map to terrain or satellite), set a default location, and change the size of the Google Maps interface. It can remember the last 10 locations you searched for. Also, you can go to your current location by clicking on the “Show my location” button on top left side. You can do popular local searches as well through quick search links at the bottom.
