How many times has this happened to you? You are lip synching to your favourite song on YouTube when you reach a part of the song where you have no idea what the singer is saying. Some just make up the lyrics while others mumble or hum through that part. Thankfully, the Lyrics extension for Google Chrome is here to help you.
The Lyrics extension is a handy extension for music fans across the world. Lyrics lets you access the lyrics of almost any song you are listening to via a simple click of the mouse. Installing it is just as easy as installing any other extension. Simply search for it on the Google Web Store and click on ‘add to Chrome’. The Lyrics icon appears on the right side of the URL when you play a song on YouTube. Clicking on it opens up a small section on the page itself that shows the lyrics. The lyrics are fetched from LyricsWiki, so you know that they are authentic. Right clicking on the icon and selecting ‘options’ will take you to a separate page where you can choose whether you want the lyrics to appear on the same page (default setting), open in a new page, or you can choose to open it as a pop up. Lyrics also work with Grooveshark, Last.fm and Google Music.
In case Lyrics is not able to find the lyrics to a song, a form shows up that lets you do a manual search for the song. If you have forgotten the name of the song, you can also search for it by typing a part of the lyrics that you know.
