As the name suggests, Little Alchemy is a smaller version of the extremely popular and addictive game for the Android Platform. Don’t be fooled by the ‘little’ part of the name, Little Alchemy is just as vast and addictive as its older sibling. Installing the Little Alchemy app is quite easy, just go to the Google Web Store and do a search for it. Then select the game and click on ‘Add to Chrome’. Then click on Little Alchemy in the ‘apps’ to get started.
Alchemy is based on the philosophy that everything consists of four basic elements, earth, fire, air and water. That is all you start with and by combining them with each other, you get more elements. For example, combining fire and water you get steam that can then be combined with earth or air to get a geyser or a cloud respectively. There are currently 210 elements and more are expected to be added. This may seem like a silly and childish concept at first but you are guaranteed to get hooked within the first 15 minutes of playing this game. Pretty soon you will be required to use your head to make new elements, for example combining pressure and a plant to create coal. There are also interesting combinations such as combining a corpse with electricity to create Frankenstein’s Monster. The game itself runs very smoothly without any framing issues. And it even runs when the internet isn’t working.
The only problem with Little Alchemy is that after a certain period of time, you may get frustrated if you can’t figure out how to create new elements. But there are plenty of sites available on the Internet to satisfy your quest to find all the elements.
