Do you like this plug-in? Share it with your friends!
The social network Facebook and the Google Chrome browser seem to be a perfect match: Next to the Chrome Facebook extension and the Facebook Photo Zoom plugin, there is also a Facebook app available that connects you with your friends without having to visit the Facebook website.
Facebook has become an important part of the social life of many people and keeping updated constantly about what’s happening in their social circle as well as keeping friends updated is an integral part of surfing the internet. For those Facebook addicts, the Facebook app for Google Chrome is an useful tool in order to make it easy to stay connected without having to visit the Facebook website constantly.
The Chrome app is integrated directly into the browser and offers the main Facebook functions such as updating ones status, accessing the news feed, update the wall and reading status messages. Whenever something happens in the social circle, a notification pops up. This way, users are always connected while surfing with Google Chrome – no more, no less than that. The Facebook Chrome app may be handy for some users, but it also doesn’t provide any additional functionality that users don’t have on the regular Facebook website.
I don’t get the difference to the Chrome extension. What is the app there for exactly?
I think this app is not so much about adding functionalities, it makes using Facebook less of a hassle by eliminating some stuff that you don’t really need such as the poking and all the ads
It is actually pretty great, check out this video about this app: http://techmento.com/videos/2011/06/02/customize-facebook-google-chrome-app/
Works very stable in my Chrome (version 12).
