The Bus Times for Google Chrome browser plugin is a smart app to keep track of your bus or local transit’s time as it plies on its route. This free add-on to your browser enables you to catch the bus on time and ensures that you do not get late for that all-important business appointment, or the date you have been wanting for years. With this utility, you do not need to check your local transit’s webpage at all as it lets you see the transit times right on your screen without leaving the page you are on.

On installing this application, a browser button is placed in the web address bar of the Chrome browser. By clicking on this icon, a pop-up window will appear wherein you can select your local transit listed to know its timings. Apart from buses, the utility also supports trains, subways, trams, rail, ferry, cable cars, funiculars, and gondolas. Since this button enables you to look at the timings at any point of time without leaving your current page, browsing to the transit’s homepage to check the timetable is not required, hence resulting in efficient utilization of your time. Also, when you set your itinerary once using the extension’s menu, the pop-up will instantly mention the minutes left till your next bus arrives.

The utility presently lists over 200 transit agencies from around the world including Auckland (New Zealand), Adelaide (Australia), Austin, Boston, Buffalo, Calgary (Canada), Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Edmonton (Canada), Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Ottawa, Philadelphia, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, Toronto, Vancouver, Washington and more. And you can also make a request to the app developer to add your local transit if it’s not in the list.
